Stavros Ioannou

Stavros Ioannou was born in Athens in 1945. He studied painting with Giannis Moralis at the School of Fine Arts, from which he graduated in 1976. He presented his first solo exhibition in Athens the same year. He was awarded the First Prize for Painting of the House of Letters and Arts (1979) and distinction at the Pan-Balkan Plastic Arts Exhibition in Bucharest (1980). Stavros Ioannou passed away in Athens in 2009. He had held more than 15 solo exhibitions and had taken part in a number of important group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. His artworks are now in museums and private collections.
